In architecture and interior design, soft furnishings have historically been seen as a finishing touch - an afterthought rather than a central design element. Established in 2007, Embelliish disrupted this perception, bringing bespoke European sensibilities, quality fabrics, and design expertise to the Indian market, custom-tailored to local design nuances.
Despite a strong client base and notable market associations, the brand’s story remained largely confined to those who had already worked with them. New business depended heavily on referrals. Embelliish wanted to broaden its presence, gain recognition, and elevate soft furnishings from accessory to integral design element.
The Challenge
The key challenge was to position Embelliish as a category leader, championing the importance of soft furnishings as a core component of home and commercial design. The brand needed to communicate sophistication, luxury, and European-inspired craftsmanship while remaining accessible to India’s design-conscious audience.
Our Approach
Our approach was anchored in a single guiding thought: soft furnishings matter as much as structure, punctuation matters as much as words. Just as a tiny comma can completely change a sentence, soft furnishings transform spaces in subtle but powerful ways.
Design Studio
- Visual Identity: The wordmark featured exclamation marks (!) as the i’s, a nod to the energy and attention soft furnishings bring to a space. The typography reflected fluidity and softness, creating a sense of movement.
- Brand Extensions: Expanded the visual vocabulary across packaging, product tags, and digital touchpoints, ensuring the brand story remained consistent across every client interaction.
- Campaign Design & Collaterals: Developed visuals emphasizing movement and texture, reinforcing the “soft yet impactful” positioning.
Advertising
- Communication Planning & Campaign Ideation: Framed storytelling around the Karigars behind the craft, the ones turning “finishing touches” into “must-have statements.”
- Ad Creation: Conceptualized and produced campaigns highlighting craftsmanship, material selections, attention to detailing and custom designs.
- Social Media Visuals: Used jewel-toned colour palettes, fluid compositions, and motion to reinforce the premium and dynamic nature of the brand.
The Outcome
The rebrand positioned Embelliish as a category-defining soft furnishing brand. The identity resonated across digital, print, and physical touchpoints, creating a memorable, cohesive brand presence. The visual language, campaigns, and social content elevated the perception of soft furnishings, turning what was once an accessory into a celebrated design element.
